Your opportunity at TrendWatching

We are looking for a passionate and strategic-thinking Business Analyst in Amsterdam to join our team and embark on our exciting multi-year journey with us to support and lead the movement to a more purposed economy.


In this vital position, your main goal will be to analyse, understand and optimise TrendWatching’s products, client work and data-driven strategy. 


You will have the rare opportunity to grow and experiment with the newest and best practices in close cooperation with our founder and Head of Product. In this role, you will be working hands-on with our leadership team across the entire company to create the largest impact through our creative, insightful and one-of-a-kind content. We support and equip 100s of well-known brands and agency clients such as Adidas, Danone, Starbucks, TWBA and UNICEF with the most current and future-oriented trend intel to truly advance their purpose game and thereby have an impact. 


Additionally, with over 260,000 followers on social media, our message and information reach over 65 countries around the globe.

Your responsibilities in this role
  • Collaborating closely with our founder and department heads to advance our strategic direction

  • Analysing and gaining new insights into our business processes  

  • Proactively identifying opportunities and improving future strategies and operations across all aspects of the business

  • Deeply understanding how different departments, products and teams work, interplay and overlap, and looking to leverage existing resources and add value

  • Working closely with the Online Products team to work on web assets and deliver improvements

  • Building out our data insights regarding our exciting and prospective clients to better serve their needs (by understanding their platform and site behaviour, conversion patterns and profiles)

  • Optimising our data and funneling our numbers in a singular database for all of our clients and products

  • Tracking our market (including competitive analysis and research into potential partners) and visualising our internal financial results 

The ideal candidate
  • You are an enthusiastic and energetic professional with at least 4 years of relevant experience in business strategy (and preferably more than 5 years of experience)

  • You love diving into data and uncovering patterns by having an eye for detail while keeping an overview of the big picture 

  • You are confident in analysing data, root cause analyses, coming up with hypotheses and testing them

  • You feel and act purposed: caring deeply about sustainability, equality, well-being and transforming businesses into a force for good

  • You perform best in a cosmopolitan, entrepreneurial and freelance-minded environment

  • You are a great communicator with solid English and project management skills

Start date: Immediately

Duration: Ongoing

Reports to: Founder & Head of Product

Compensation: up to 2000 EUR a month (working 20 hours a week - negotiable based on seniority and individual benefits)
